Today, the Ministry of Culture in Belgrade, signed the Protocol on the financing of activities of the festival "Fortress theater.

This protocol covers the period from 2010. in 2012 and motivated by the need to finance, with four million, to support the first ambient summer festival in Serbia.

Protocol on co-financing in the Press Hall of Ministry of Culture of Serbia signed by the Minister of Culture of Serbia, Nebojsa Bradic and festival director, Dragoljub Martic. The signing was also attended by the Mayor of Smederevo, Predrag Umićević, artistic director of the festival, Brana Liješević and deputy chairperson of the festival, Slobodan Suljagic.

"We are convinced that this festival, in subsequent periods, a new creative incentives, which come from the town of Smederevo, and so around the cultural and theatrical life in Serbia and will in the future bring major performing arts companies and institutions from Europe and the world. As an incentive for people to come to the place where it happens the spirit of creativity, where creativity is very active and connections between art and theater environment such as the entry gate for us an extraordinary historical monument. Perspective for us this is a nomination for World Heritage List of UNESCO, the key impetus to the fortress to be respected and, in some way be the basis for the unique experience of art, and this is possible only with the connection between artists, space and audience. Therefore we expect that this year we have the pleasure to welcome in August-quality performances, the audience in Smederevo, and that voice from the entry gate to go away "- told reporters after potisivanja Protocol, Minister Bradić.

Mayor Smederevo, Predrag Umićević thanked the Minister of Culture since last year expressed support for the festival. City of Smederevo is actually hosting the Fort Theatre, and twenty thousand people saw this festival. Despot Đurađ Brankovic is on the same site, in the Fortress, hosted theater troupes, and in this atmosphere of theatrical life existed more than five centuries. Smederevo obligation to the citizens to cultivate this space and to assert it in the best possible way. What was done last year produced a satisfaction rating of the Ministry of Culture that was done a good job and that is a step in the development of culture in this region. Smederevo Mayor also expressed appreciation for the involvement of Vida Ognjenovic as the creator of the idea of the festival, Brane Lješević Slobodan Radovic and others who are in front of the local government responsible for the success of the festival.
